Designing equal and inclusive board games
Access + is an Asmodee studio that adapts existing games for players with cognitive disabilities. It draws on clinical data from its research and focuses on making its games more accessible and welcoming for patients, families and caregivers. Asmodee Research approached me to create a brand identity for this new game range. We worked on a logo and box designs for the three first games of Access +.

Logo
The initial brief for the logo was to associate friendliness with scientific rigor. Access + needed to convey values of pleasure, self-fulfillment and well-being while keeping a scientific legitimacy at its core.
FINAL LOGO
With its rounded shapes, the final logo creates a benevolent environment. Its generous stroke and fluid lines bring a warm feeling of well-being. The geometric rigor of the letters and the overall color scheme also stress the scientific expertise of the brand.

Box design
The main challenge of this task was to create a single layout that would work for all three games: tying everything together in a coherent way while keeping each box interesting on its own. The client also wanted to find a graphic trick to create a range effect when all three games are placed on top of each other on a shelf.
FINAL BOX RANGE
The main artwork is centered in a circle on a white background. A reassuring wave surrounds the artwork and gives the box a dynamic layout. A dedicated pattern subtly immerses the player into the game's universe. When all the boxes are placed on top of each other, the sides create a wave pattern.

Brand guidelines
The last assignment on this project was to create brand guidelines to help Asmodee's in-house studio design new communication media. We created a short document explaining all the design principles in details.
